It is a non-searchable list so what you say here is safe from prying eyes. The reasons for this are simple: Without frank open discussion, even argument, we many times would not reach a decision. Also, as many of you have seen, we often convince each other to change positions. Additionally, there may be times that we will be engaged in discussing individual project members in regard to problems they may be involved in. This list protects their privacy as well. All of this leaves "sound bites" which could be misinterpreted or misused. So respect the privacy of this list. I reiterate what I said the other day: "This closed list is used for discussions and information transfer. We discuss an issue and once we reach a relative consensus, someone proposes a motion to be placed on the board list. Assuming their is a second we then call for a vote. If their is further disagreement it is discussed HERE. The intent here is not to be secretive, but to keep our internal disagreements from appearing to be dissension on the board. We don't usually agree on something 100% at first but in most cases we do reach a common ground. It is very simple! ANYONE violating the sanctity of this list will be un subbed by the listowner... Holly, does anyone take this guy seriously? Yes, I am a registered Democrat... have been all my life. Haven't voted for one in years...(knowingly, maybe for some in non-partisan races) (except in the CA primaries, which until this year you had to vote for the candidates of the party in which you are registered). More and more I think of great-aunt Cora, who always said that the Democratic candidate was always the best, but if you knew that he was a liar and a thief and had no morals, you could always vote for the Prohibitionist candidate because you knew that at least he had high moral principles. I should add that Aunt Cora lived all her life in OK, where the great experiment of prohibition lasted until the late 1950s (when the politicians finally realised that they were loosing millions in tax revenue, and enforced the law for a month or so before the election.. and cold sober voters repealed the law). I'm sure that she voted again that too! I've never seen a Prohibitionist candidate on the ballot out here tho.. The idea: A grassroots effort to preserve the stories of Humanity, one person at a time. Each person can post his or her story on the Web at a universally available site, a site that will be here for the next 1000 years. www.123456789.net is the URL for Infinite Humanity, an unprecedented Web site that allows anyone in the world to post his or her name, birth date and place, nationality and gender for free. For minimal fees ranging from $5 - $10 $2 to $20, anyone can post a biographic legacy for their families, friends and interested parties. "The Infinite Humanity URL is as unique as our site," said founder David Morse of Los Angeles. "It was specifically designed to provide accessibility for a worldwide audience -- the numbers are on almost all keyboards." Morse, an international businessman and former high school and college fast food delivery driver and swap meet salesman, spent the past 20 years racking up 5 million air miles traveling to over 50 countries as a trade mart management consultant. "Infinite Humanity is a synthesis of all that I have been fortunate enough to experience with people around the world. We are using the Net, which exists almost everywhere, to allow people everywhere to record what they want their loved ones and future generations to know," Morse said. A cemetery in Malaysia provided the inspiration. Morse was paying his final respects to a close friend. Dato Kim Yeo Tan. Surrounded by hundreds of headstones, many from the past century, it occurred to Morse that there was a lifetime of stories to go with each deceased person. "Everyone should count," Morse decided, "and everyone should have a way of telling their own story for future generations. Infinite Humanity is all about peoples' stories or "storyographies." We can all leave a legacy, and the holiday season provides the perfect time for younger members of a family to begin recording the storyography of their elders. It's a gesture of caring, of respect. This is a way for a grandmother to tell her story to her granddaughter's future children." On Thursday, December 10th, Senior citizens in Culver City, California were the first in the world to post their personal stories. Morse, 48, is CEO of Mart Management International, which provides management and development services for international trade centers around the world. He has three grown sons, and lives in Los Angeles along with his wife Kristin, owner of a women's fashion company. Spence's other message: Hi, I think the board has probably just been exposed. Does this call for an emergency election so the USGW can vote in an honest set of board members? Tell us all, is this an emergency? These were posted to KYGEN-L as well as me dircetly so just ignoring it is not much of an option for me.
